You can instead have the plasma gun retain the heat to be vented forwards at your discretion. Normally a plasma gun vents excess heat as it fires. To be able to use this weapon property you must choose this weapon when you gain a weapon alt-fire class feature.
This action uses ten pieces of ammunition. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take the weapon's normal damage. You can make a normal single-target attack with the plasma gun, or you can spray a 10-foot-cube area within normal range. The plasma gun uses UAC energy pack for ammunition. Although the plasma deals lethal damage at close to mid-range, it has a low muzzle velocity and performs poorly at long range. Manufactured by UAC Advanced Weapons, this energy weapon fires balls of superheated plasma.
